A Glasgow gym has closed over the weekend after a personal trainer tested positive for coronavirus

The Shwalands gym, Future Fitness, confirmed it will undergo a deep clean before reopening on Monday. 

It is also set to close early every Sunday from next week onwards to allow for further health precautions. 

Future Fitness took to Facebook to announce the coronavirus link.

A post reads: "We have just been notified a trainer has tested positive for COVID – 19 and we are taking precautions in line with government guidance.

"The gym is now closed for a COVID-19 decontamination and deep clean to ensure customer safety and business as normal again on MONDAY 6am.

"As part of an ongoing sanitisation and decontamination plan we will be closing every Sunday afternoon from 2pm from next week onwards.

"Apologies for the inconvenience caused but the safety and health of members comes first and we want to ensure that your training environment is as safe as possible.

"In the meantime stay safe and we’ll see you all back next week."
