A FURTHER 1712 coronavirus cases have been identified in Scotland over the last 24 hours, Nicola Sturgeon has said.
Speaking at a Scottish Government briefing this afternoon, the First Minister explained that accounted for 19.8% of all those newly tested and 9.2% of all tests carried out.
The First Minister added that there have been a further 17 deaths among patients who tested positive for coronavirus in the last 28 days, taking the total under that measurement to 2670.
Of the new cases 584 were in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 457 were in Lanarkshire, 192 were in Lothian and 151 were in Ayrshire and Arran.
The other cases were spread across nine other health board areas with only the Western Isles not recording a new case.
There were 928 people in hospital with Covid-19, an increase of 55 on the previous day. There were 74 people in intensive care, an increase of one.
