Ugly House to Lovely House with George Clarke (C4, 8pm)

THE idyllic village of Hartley Wintney in Hampshire is often voted one of Britain’s best places to live, but Fiona and Hugh don’t think their house lives up to its surroundings – the only thing they like is the garden. So, in the first in a new series, George Clarke and his team of architects set out to transform the property on a budget of £180,000.

The Trump Show (BBC2, 9pm)

WHEN Donald Trump won the US election in 2016, it quickly became clear that he was going to take a very new approach to the role. This new series looks at how he brought the persona he had honed as a businessman and reality-TV star to the White House. The opening episode focuses on his first 18 months, featuring insights from key players, including Steve Bannon, Omarosa Manigault Newman, Anthony Scaramucci and Sean Spicer. The latter was involved in one of the episodes that arguably set the tone for Trump’s fraught relationship with the media when he defended the president over reports of a disappointing turnout for the inauguration.

Mo Gilligan: Black, British and Funny (C4, 10pm)

FOR the past 30 years, Britain has been home to a thriving black comedy circuit, and Mo Gilligan is here to celebrate it. Cameras follow him as he meets pioneers Angie Le Mar, the veteran comic from The Real McCoy who was the first female black comedian to have a sell-out show in London’s West End, and John Simmit, whose claims to fame include playing Dipsy in the Teletubbies.

Miscarriage: Our Story (C5, 10pm)

ONE in four pregnancies ends in a miscarriage, yet it’s a subject that remains taboo for many people. To mark Baby Loss Awareness Week, nine women and men share their stories, including broadcaster Natasha Kaplinsky, who remembers the sonographer asking if she needed some time to herself – she didn’t initially realise that this was because something was wrong.
