NHS Western Isles has again teamed up with Peat & Diesel for a new “tongue-in-cheek” music video reminding residents of key coronavirus guidance.

The health board and popular folk band previously worked together to relaunch the music video for My Island, adding in “key health messages on how to keep our islands safe”.

Now a new collaboration has resulted in a rewriting of the band’s hit song Western Isles to incorporate crucial hygiene advice for those living in and visiting the area during the pandemic.

The song has been rebranded to “That’s The Way We Wash Them” and was released as a one-minute video on the health board’s Vimeo account.

The new version of the tune promotes thorough handwashing to help protect people from coronavirus.

Last month a documentary about the three-piece band scooped a prize at a long-running New York film festival.

Peat & Diesel: That’s The Way We Do It! took the prize for International Documentary Feature at the Williamsburg International Film & Music Festival.
