The Grand Party Hotel (BBC1, 8pm)

A LATE booking has come in for a very special wedding. But as the hotel’s extravagant wedding suite is already booked, director Kris and his team set about converting one of the Shankly’s other luxury rooms into the bridal suite of dreams. Bride-to-be Kaylea and her groom Mark have been together 14 years and have two children. Earlier this year, Kaylea fell ill and was diagnosed with terminal stage four bowel cancer, and their wedding has been brought forward as a result.

The Truth About Your Sandwich (C4, 8pm)

BRITAIN’S sandwich industry is worth a whopping £8 billion a year, but Helen Skelton believes some of the major chains’ practices leave a bad taste. In this documentary, she investigates shocking hygiene conditions at a major sandwich retailer, while testing reveals that we shouldn’t always trust the nutritional levels advertised on your high-street food.

The Apprentice Best Bits (BBC1, 9pm)

THIS week’s episode looks back at the show’s charity celebrity specials when famous faces, including Jack Dee, Jonathan Ross, Omid Djalili and Rylan Clark-Neal swapped showbusiness for big business and raised over £2 million for Comic Relief and Sport Relief. Viewers will get another chance to see Lord Sugar’s lieutenant Karren – before she was Baroness Brady – leading the girls to victory over Alastair Campbell’s boys team in 2007.

First Dates (C4, 10pm)

STUDENT Aryeh, 22, is struggling to find someone who isn’t put off by his overwhelming personality. Perhaps his date, Jack, a 24-year-old performance art student with a matching bold shirt, will fit the bill. Meanwhile, 60-year-old widow Meryl is looking for someone who can keep up with her when she goes out clubbing. Andrew, also 60, is experiencing a new lease of life since his hip replacement and believes he could be the man to keep Meryl on her toes.
