AN open studio event displaying the best in art and crafts in Dumfries and Galloway is moving online.

Spring Fling normally offers thousands of visitors from elsewhere in Scotland, the rest of the UK and overseas the chance to enjoy the beauties of one of Scotland’s lesser-known rural regions. It will run from October 5-12.

Photographers like Alistair Hamilton would have had their studios open but have instead shared images of their favourite spots.

One of Hamilton’s favourite places to photograph is Ross Bay which he sees every morning after waking up. He said: “I love it because it is never twice the same as the mud is always moving which means the shape of the incoming waves constantly changes.”

There will also be work from around 80 other artists on the Spring Fling website available to buy, have a virtual studio tour or take part in an online workshop.
