A THUG attacked a man with a crutch after being told to be quiet.
Gary Quinn, 30, pounced on John Flannigan in Glasgow’s Sandyhills in June this year.
Quinn was with others outside the address on Balbeggie Street before being approached by Mr Flannigan.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Mr Flannigan told the group to “keep the noise down.”
Prosecutor Hannah Terrance said: “This led to a verbal and physical altercation between Mr Flannigan and the group.
“The accused lifted the crutch belonging to one of the group and swung it in an aggressive manner hitting Mr Flannigan on the head.”
A 999 call was made and officers later snared Quinn still clutching the crutch.
He was arrested and held in custody before pleading guilty today to the assault.
Lawyer Brian Lannigan, defending, told the court Quinn accepts that a custodial sentence is inevitable.
Sentence was deferred for background reports by Sheriff Sean Murphy QC.
Quinn, who appeared from custody, had his remand continued meantime.
