HAVING discussions with our children on the rules of Covid-19 isn’t always the simplest, especially now that they can’t meet with more than one other household (even outside), yet in school they obviously see many more.

Perhaps it would be a good idea for the First Minister to hold a special “daily briefing” aimed at teenagers and those in schools. It could answer the common questions that children ask and highlight the need for a collective fight against Covid-19.

The schools could then arrange to show these during their social PSE classes, or maybe even show it live if they have the facilities.

Doing so would be a welcome change in schools to educate the children on social responsibilities, looking out for others rather than the constant “I have rights” that is drummed into children from the moment they enter school.
