A FURTHER 175 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Scotland over the last 24 hours, the First Minister has said.
Speaking at the daily briefing, Nicola Sturgeon said that accounted for 2.7% of newly tested individuals in Scotland.
The First Minister added that 80 of the cases are in the Greater Glasgow area, 39 are in Lanarkshire, 24 are in Lothian and 12 are in Ayrshire and Arran.
Sturgeon stressed that the situation in Lanarkshire is causing “particular concern”. She said discussions will take place today, but additional restrictions may be applied in the area.

There were three more people in hospital with confirmed Covid-19, Sturgeon added, and one more in ICU with the virus.
There were no further deaths of people who have tested positive for coronavirus over the last 28 days, she added.
Sturgeon also updated viewers on the Protect Scotland app, which alerts users if they have been close to a person who has tested positive for coronavirus.
She said since it was introduced on Wednesday night there have been more than 600,000 downloads of the software.
The First Minister gave the briefing amid outrage over the BBC’s decision to stop broadcasting the updates.
From Monday the corporation will only air the updates based on their “editorial merit”.
