I COULDN’T quite believe it but it must be true because it was on BBC Radio Scotland – “Lord” Lloyd-Webber has joined the long list of capitalist millionaires who want special treatment for their money-making enterprises.

He demands that one of his fancy pantos to be allowed to persuade people of compromised musical taste to risk their health, because the airlines have been allowed to.

The arts are vitally important, but frankly, I’d put the Play, Pie and Pint in Glasgow’s Oran Mor several orders of magnitude ahead of Lloyd-Webber’s derivitive and over-blown confections.

He’s “threatening” to open his show abroad if the UK Government doesn’t cave in to his demands, just as he threatened to leave the country if Labour got into power.

I say now, as I said then, “let him”.
