NEWS that Ruth Davidson has taken on a new job as an LBC radio host and podcaster hasn’t gone down too well this morning.
Maybe it’s the fact that the former Scottish Tory leader is already gearing up to take her new job in the House of Lords.
Maybe it’s the fact she earned £7500 on top of her Holyrood salary to commentate on ITV’s election night coverage.
Maybe it was the scandal involving her accepting a PR job worth £50k a year on top of her MSP role, then deciding not to take it after all.

Whatever it is, people just aren’t that impressed with the MSP accepting yet another role.
Davidson has been criticised for what opponents see as a lack of constituency surgeries in the past, with SNP MP Joanna Cherry taking aim at the MSP’s “woeful constituency work rate”.
Now MSP Jenny Gilruth has brought the row back with her quip about Davidson’s new Sunday-night radio show, “An Inconvenient Ruth”.
The Mid Fife and Glenrothes MSP reposted LBC’s announcement, adding: “At least her constituents will know where to contact her for an appointment now.”

Davidson will have former PM Tony Blair on the show as the first guest to be interviewed.
Davidson, who is donating the profits to charity Maggie’s in Edinburgh, said: "Some politicians take time out at weekends by hitting the gym, reading books or going hillwalking. I'm excited to spend an hour on LBC talking to fascinating people about their life, their work and the change they're making to the world.
“From scientists to celebrities, artists to athletes and all sorts of world-beating figures in between, I'll be asking them to share their story – the hard times as well as the good. It should make absorbing listening."
Can't say we'll be tuning in.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
