NICOLA Sturgeon has warned Scots of the danger of indoor gatherings after a cluster of cases in Ayrshire and Arran emerged.

Speaking at her daily coronavirus briefing, the First Minister said there were 22 positive cases in that area at the moment.

An incident management team is looking at the situation.

“Many of these Ayrshire and Arran cases seem to be linked to indoor gatherings that took place the previous weekend,” Sturgeon said.

She went on to state a cluster in Hawick in the Scottish borders had increased to 15 people, with a mobile testing unit in the town on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
