SNP councillor Chris McEleny has thrown his hat in the ring for the party's nomination for Greenock and Inverclyde.

The sitting MSP is Stuart McMillan, who was first elected on the list in 2007 and then re-elected for the constituency in 2011 and 2016.

David Torrance, the SNP MSP for Kirkcaldy, is also facing an internal challenge.

Former SNP MP Roger Mullin, a member of the SNP's growth commission, is hoping to be selected.
