THERE have been 44 new coronavirus cases identified in Scotland over the past 24 hours, the First Minister has announced.

Speaking at the daily briefing, Nicola Sturgeon said the number of new cases accounted for 0.8% of all people who were tested yesterday.

Sturgeon said based on provisional information seven of the cases were in the Tayside health board area, but a full health board breakdown will be published later today.

There were no further deaths of people who have received a positive coronavirus test within the last 28 days.
