ANOTHER 66 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Scotland, the First Minister has announced.

The new cases represented 1% of those tested in the past 24 hours and bring the total to 19,877.

Once again, no deaths were recorded in the daily figures, meaning the toll among confirmed patients remains 2492.

A total of 248 people were in hospital last night with confirmed coronavirus, an increase of three.

Of those, one was in intensive care, a decrease of one.

The breakdown of new cases by health board will be published later today.

At the Scottish Government's daily briefing, Nicola Sturgeon spoke about the easing of lockdown restrictions in Aberdeen.

She said: "Over the past week, there has been a decline in the number of recorded cases in Aberdeen and more widely in the Grampian area.

"We were therefore able to agree yesterday, the lifting of restrictions that were put in place for Aberdeen City two and a half weeks ago."
