ANOTHER 83 people have tested positive for Coivd-19 in Scotland, the Government has announced.

The new cases represent 0.9% of tests carried out in the past 24 hours and bring the national total to 19,811 confirmed cases.

No deaths were recorded among coronavirus patients, meaning the toll under that measurement remains 2492.

Some 245 people were in hospital last night with confirmed coronavirus,  a fall of one on yesterday. 

Of those, two were in intensive care, marking no change from 24 hours previously.

Of the new cases, 37 were in the NHS Tayside area, where authorities are dealing with an outbreak at the 2 Sisters food processing plant in Coupar Angus.

Some 16 of the new cases were in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area and 11 in NHS Lothian.

NHS Grampian reported another three confirmed cases.

Authorities in Aberdeen have been dealing with a large cluster of cases linked to pubs, with local lockdown measures continuing in the city.
