Speaking during the Scottish Government's daily briefing, Nicola Sturgeon said: “We should remember that the weekly National Records of Scotland figures, which include confirmed and presumed Covid deaths showed last week that five people had died in the preceding seven days who were either presumed to have had Covid or whose test was more than 28 days prior to death occurring.

“This week's more comprehensive figure will be published by the NRS tomorrow. That is a stark reminder of the impact of this virus. It is still potentially very dangerous. My condolences again go to everybody who has suffered loss."
