THERE have been 65 coronavirus cases identified in Scotland over the last 24 hours, the First Minister has confirmed.

Speaking at the Scottish Government’s daily briefing, Nicola Sturgeon said that represents 1.6% of people newly tested yesterday.

The provisional information is that 28 of the 65 new cases are in the Grampian area, nine are in Greater Glasgow and two are in Orkney.

Since July 26 there have been a total of 328 cases identified in Grampian, while 198 of these are linked to the cluster relating to hospitality venues in the city.

Sturgeon added 1032 contacts have been traced in relation to that cluster.

Five fewer people are in hospital with coronavirus and there are three people in ICU with the virus, the same figure as yesterday.

There were no further deaths of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 28 days.

It comes as new countries have been added to Scotland’s quarantine list.

The Scottish Government, in conjunction with the other UK nations, announced people travelling from France, Monaco, Netherlands and others would have to quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival in the country.
