ANOTHER 64 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Scotland, the First Minister has announced.

It means a total of 18,781 people are now known to have contracted the disease.

There have been no new deaths in the daily figures, with that measurement remaining 2491.

Of the new cases, 36 are linked to a cluster in Grampian and 15 to a similar run of cases in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area.

There were 267 people in hospital with confirmed Covid-19, down by three.

Of these, three were in intensive care, representing no change on 24 hours previously.

New weekly coronavirus figures were also released today by National Records of Scotland.

They show seven deaths in which Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate were recorded between July 27 and August 2.

It means Scotland's overall death toll now stands at 4,208.
