JACKSON Carlaw’s shock resignation from the Scottish Tories has coincided with Ruth Davidson’s re-emergence into the limelight.

Before you could say the indyref was a once in a generation vote, the newly named peer was drumming up support for Douglas Ross’s leadership campaign.

That struck must onlookers as a bit fishy, especially once it emerged that Michael Gove and Boris Johnson had visited Ross in the week before Carlaw resigned.

This tricky issue was put to Davidson by BBC Scotland’s Martin Geissler.

Fortunately for the for Scottish Tory leader, she gave a totally convincing answer…
