Britain’s Greatest Olympic Moments (BBC1, 1.15pm)
CLARE Balding and Gabby Logan look back at some of the most memorable moments by British athletes at Olympic Games, counting down the top 25 moments. Some of the highlights expected to feature are the battle between Seb Coe and Steve Cram in the 1500m at Los Angeles 1984, where Daley Thompson also made headlines in the decathlon.
Steve Redgrave’s attempt to claim a fifth rowing gold medal at Sydney 2000 is sure to be high up the list, as are Linford Christie and Sally Gunnell’s exploits in the men’s 100m and women’s 400m hurdles at Barcelona 1992.
London 2012 saw Team GB claim a record number of gold medals, with sporting luminaries such as Bradley Wiggins, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Andy Murray and Mo Farah proving why they were household names, and new stars such as Nicola Adams, Laura Trott and Anthony Joshua burst onto the sporting landscape.
Casualty (BBC1, 8.25pm)
WITH Lev acting distant, Faith struggles to cope while waiting for the results of Luka’s latest scan. In a crisis, she calls Dylan, asking to see a friendly face, and he agrees to be there to support her.
Meanwhile, Ethan bumps into Fenisha at Holby Comic Con and the pair are delighted to see each other. However, things soon turn awry when a van is accidentally driven into a merchandise stall, seriously injuring several people, and Ethan is suddenly struck by terrifying memories of last year’s terrorist attack.
Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer (BBC1, 9.10pm)
NOT a lot of football stars have successfully managed to transfer their magic to Saturday night entertainment shows, but there have been no problems for Peter Crouch.
Tonight, eight years after his stunning turn at the London Olympics, Mo Farah will once more be putting the super into Saturday, going head to head with Jamie Redknapp in a spectacular Sporting Fix finale.
There is a special footballing legends edition of Musical VAR, AJ Tracey and Mabel give an exclusive performance in The Garden Sessions, and regulars Maya Jama and Alex Horne, with his band the Horne Section, also feature.
The Last Wave (BBC4, 9pm & 9.50pm)
THIS French supernatural drama is set during a surfing competition in Brizan, a quiet seaside resort in the French Landes.
A huge cloud takes over the sky and an enormous wave then appears, engulfing all the participants. As the days pass, the surfers begin to return home dazed and confused, with no memory of what happened to them.
One by one, they discover they have been changed by the event and each possesses exceptional and inexplicable powers. With the town united in fear, waiting for another wave to strike, scientist Ben Lebon (David Kammenos) makes a startling discovery.
