NICOLA Sturgeon has marked her 10th wedding anniversary with a throwback to her big day.

The First Minister shared a snap of her and husband Peter Murrell to celebrate the occasion.

Posted by SNP chief executive Murrell, the caption read “3,653 days and counting...”

Re-tweeting, the FM wrote “10 years” with a love heart emoji.

The pair have been together since 2003 and were married in Glasgow in 2010.

The tweets have been liked and shared thousands of times, with scores of social media users sending their congratulations.

Justice Minister Humza Yousaf wrote: "This is the most on-brand Peter Murrell tweet I've seen. Congrats to you both!"

MSP Gillian Martin posted: “Happy anniversary to you both!”

As well as congratulating the First Minister, several commenters hailed her handling of the coronavirus crisis. And some south of the Border even had a special request.

“Congratulations,” one wrote. “Could you possibly move to England and take over from Boris? Lol. Stay safe.”

Another posted: “Congratulations a lovely photo. Would you please come and rum England on your day off? Have a great day.”

A separate comment read: “Congratulations. But do you ever see each other these days because I was only thinking the other day how much work and effort you put into Covid in representing your government in comparison to our PM who doesn't work weekends or read long documents.”
