SHE is one of The National’s most popular contributors, a columnist recognised across the Yes movement and beyond for her great contributions to the cause of independence such as the acclaimed Nation series of films.

Lesley Riddoch is a broadcaster, journalist and film-maker supreme, someone who has expended countless hours of her own time travelling far and wide to boost the Yes movement.

Like us all, she is hampered in her activities by the current coronavirus pandemic, but her online presence is growing by the day.

Tomorrow night, Thursday, July 16, from 8pm to 9.30pm Lesley will take part in an online event hosted by Edinburgh North and Leith Common Weal.

To listen to Lesley and take part in the Q&A after her opening remarks, just go to Eventbrite, search for the event and register to participate.

The group said: “One of Scotland’s best known commentators, Lesley Riddoch, will be joining us to present on Scotland, the Scottish political scene, independence and what an independent Scotland might look like.

“Lesley is a celebrated broadcaster, journalist and author who has taken a leading role as a cultural commentator and activist in the YES movement.

“Having written about how an independent Scotland might look, we’re delighted to welcome Lesley to hear her thoughts on the current situation and future prospects.”
