DONALD Trump doesn't exactly hold back when it comes to his pride for the American nation.
So it comes as no surprise today that the White House has, on his behalf, tweeted out a list of specific achievements to have come straight from the USA.
Except something seemed a bit off...
"Americans harnessed electricity, split the atom, and gave the world the telephone and the internet. We settled the Wild West, won two World Wars, landed American Astronauts on the Moon—and one day soon, we will plant our flag on Mars!"

According to President Trump, telephone and Internet users worldwide owe thanks to American inventors, with great scientific feats such as splitting the atom also being carried out by US citizens.
Of course, this may come as a shock to the likes of Scotland, England and New Zealand, who - at least, up until today - had been credited with inventing the telephone, World Wide Web and splitting the atom.
Twitter users were quick to point out his errors, however:

It was the UK who brought Civilian Nuclear Power into the main stream and commercial use
It was the Soviets who won WWII via the Battle of Berlin
Earnest Rutherford was from New Zealand, he won a Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his work on the disintegration of elements and the chemistry of radioactive substances in Canada. He also split the atom in Manchester....

Alexander Graham Bell and Sir Tim Berners-Lee might have something to say about that, not to mention the North American Native populations, all the other countries who fought alongside the US in two world wars, and a whole bunch of German rocket scientists.
