THE Buchanan Galleries has introduced additional health and safety measures ahead of their reopening on July 13.

The Glasgow shopping centre said that hand sanitiser will be located at all main entrance points.

A pedestrian flow system will also be in place to ensure social distancing can be maintained and capacity will be limited.

Some facilities will be limited or reduced to ensure social distancing.Within the centre, there will be marked queueing areas outside each store and staff will be provided with masks and gloves, for use where appropriate.

Kathy Murdoch, Centre Manager, Buchanan Galleries, said: “Safety is our highest priority. We’re working hard to ensure we adhere to all government guidelines at Buchanan Galleries, and are taking a robust approach to cleanliness and hygiene. As well as the thorough cleaning of the centre, we will be using floor stickers and signs to remind guests to keep the required distance apart, providing hand sanitiser for guests and staff to use at a key points throughout the centre, and our security teams will be available to help customers. Buchanan Galleries has remained partially open throughout lockdown for our essential stores and so many of our staff are already well versed in managing the new procedures. From 13th July, customers will be able to check which stores are open on our website and we will list some helpful FAQs there too. We’re looking forward to welcoming our customers back and we will be fully compliant with government guidance at all times.”
