PARENTS up and down the country have seen their work-life balances tested to the max in lockdown, with many forced to become teachers and provide full-time care for their kids in addition to shifting their careers into a work-from-home set-up.

And for those who are now working from their front rooms, it's not unusual to have a small, unexpected visitor joining in on work Zoom or Teams meetings unannounced.

So spare a thought for those who end up with such video conferences being broadcast live on UK-wide TV - which happened not once, but twice today.

Dr Clare Wenham was being interview by Christian Fraser on BBC News earlier today when daughter Scarlett stole the show.

While her daughter was trying to find the best spot to place her unicorn painting on a shelf in the background, Fraser asked Wenham what her daughter's name was before telling her he thought it was best placed on the lower shelf.

Scarlett then turned the questions onto Fraser, quizzing her mum on the presenter's own name.

"My name is Christian," replied Fraser.

Scarlett responded: "Christian, I'm just deciding where it can go and where mummy wants it to go."

Meanwhile, over on Sky News, journalist Deborah Haynes was addressing the scenes in Hong Kong when her son strolled through the door.

Despite his mum apologising for his sudden arrival, he wasted no time in getting straight to the point - requesting two biscuits.

The clips delighted Twitter users, with one saying: "Shout out to Dr Clare Wenham (BBC News Channel clip), @haynesdeborah (Sky News) and all other working mums out there juggling their jobs and childcare during this period.

"I don't know how you're doing it, but you're bossing it - hats off to all WFH parents."
