Non-essential city centre shops reopened this morning in Glasgow, as hundreds took to queueing outside Primark on Argyle street as the retailers opened their doors.

We took a look around other shops on the 'Style Mile', including iconic Frasers and the Argyll Arcade.

Glasgow Times:

Many shops were tentatively preparing for re-opening, but few had as big a queue as Primark.

This could be down to the fact that Primark does not have any online operations.

Argyll Arcade had its iconic shop-frontier and concierge open for business and many deliveries were being made to shop fronts on Buchanan street.

Glasgow Times:

Buchanan street was still desperately quiet in comparison to usual, despite many shops reopening.

Another favourite was Size? in Merchant city, which had a sizable queue outside it!

Glasgow Times:

Zara is also hotly anticipated and had a few people outside waiting on it to open.

Glasgow Times:

Some shops are still yet to open, and sadly many have been sent into administration, like Laura Ashley, and the UK arm of Victoria's Secret which has put more than 800 jobs at risk UK wide.

The lingerie retailer currently has two stores in Glasgow - on Buchanan Street and at Glasgow Airport.

Buchanan Galleries welcomed the flagship store back in 2018 which saw customers queuing down the street to get in.Glasgow Times:

Many, meanwhile, are preparing for sales, such as All Saints which was fixing lettering outside the iconic Singer-sewing machine shop front.
