SNP MP Drew Hendry has revealed he is delighted to learn that he has become a grandfather during lockdown.
Hendry – who represents Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey – said he cannot wait to meet his new grandson who was "a complete surprise".
His son Ross was not expecting the baby after his partner Gill had a stealth pregnancy which cannot be detected by doctors.
Hendry told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I'm desperate to meet my surprise grandson. We had a lockdown baby that nobody was expecting. It's one of those phenomenons where it was a stealth baby so wee Cameron Hendry has not met his grandfather yet. We had no idea he was coming.
Surprised, presenter Emma Barnett asked "you had no idea, Drew?"
"No idea at all," Hendry responded. "It just came as a complete surprise. About a week ago I got a phone call from my son Ross to tell me that his partner Gill had been taken to hospital ill and we had a brand new grandson. He's very healthy, we're all very healthy and very happy but of course I'm itching, absolutely itching, to meet him."

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
