NIGEL Farage has come under fire for "inciting evil racism" after he branded Black Lives Matter a “far-left Marxist organisation whose chief aim is to close down police forces”.
During a heated debate on Good Morning Britain after a statue of former slave trader Edward Colston was torn down in Bristol and thrown into the harbour, the former Brexit Party leader also compared the anti-racism group to the Taliban.
Farage, who hit out at “mob rule”, was rounded on by women's rights activist and lawyer Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu and historian Professor Kate Williams.
An angry Dr Mos-Shogbamimu said: “There is no justification for statues that immortalise slavery immortalise imperialism.”

Farage responded: “Do you know the BBC have consistently over the last week refused to tell people the truth about Black Lives Matter.
“'The organisation BLM is a far-left Marxist organisation whose chief aim is to de-fund and close down police forces.”
Dr Mos-Shogbamimu fired back saying Farage was struggling to “remain relevant”.
The statue had stood since 1895 and was the subject of controversy due to its association with the 17th-century slave trader.
