THE UK Government has the joint-lowest rating in the world for their approach to the coronavirus pandemic, a new poll has revealed.
A YouGov survey found only 41% of Brits say Boris Johnson's Government is managing the outbreak well, versus 56% who say it is mishandling it. This gives a net score of -15, down from -6 the week previously.
Mexico also has a net score of -15.
The UK also continues to lag far behind most other countries when it comes to face mask usage. The figure reporting having done so remains unchanged on the previous week at 21%.
The Westminster Government has recently announced that people on public transport will be required to wear face masks, so this figure may increase in coming weeks.
The Trump administration’s response to the crisis currently generates a net score of -12, down from -7 the week before, with 41% of Americans saying the government is performing well compared to 53% who say it is performing poorly.
Vietnam has the highest rating followed by the Republic of China at +95 and +97 respectively.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
