ANOTHER six people have died in Scotland after being diagnosed with Covid-19, it has been confirmed.
It brings the total number of deaths under that measurement to 2415.
The latest Scottish Government figures show that 21 more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 15,603.
However, officials warn this will be an underestimate because not everyone with the virus will display symptoms and not all those with symptoms will be tested.
Of the people who have tested positive, 3795 inpatients have been discharged from hospital since March 5.
Here is a breakdown of the statistics by health board.
Some 646 were in hospital last night, 16 of whom were in intensive care. Another four people were in intensive care with suspected Covid-19.
The Scottish Government also announced that 3552 tests were carried out by NHS Scotland in hospitals, care homes or the community. There were a further 1349 drive through and mobile tests carried out by the Regional Testing Centres.
The figures are published in full here.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
