DOCTORS standing at the gates of Downing Street turned their backs on the Prime Minister last night and held a minute’s 237-second silence – one second for every doctor, nurse and carer who has died during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The group demonstrating aim to raise £60,000 for their legal fight to ensure the Government is guided by science and not supply when it comes to PPE.

So far the group has received more than £50,000 in donations to help protect doctors, nurses and carers.

Dr Meenal Viz, an NHS doctor at the front of the campaign, shared the video on Twitter this evening.

The clip shows her and other doctor colleagues standing at the gates as Boris Johnson clapped for the NHS for the final time. As the clock struck 8pm the group turned their backs on the Tory leader and began their silence.

The video has been shared thousands of times on Twitter.
