A SOUTH SIDE hairdresser was caught in the act giving hair cuts to customers - despite lockdown restrictions.
Prestige Turkish Barber was open to customers on Saturday night with cops catching the salon open around 7.30pm.
Police at the Strathbungo business gave one man, believed to be a hair dresser, a Fixed Penalty Notice for breaching government rules.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, hair cuts are currently banned with salons and barber shops shut for safety reasons.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report around 7.30pm on Saturday, May 23, 2020 relating to people breaching government guidelines within a barber shop on Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow.
"One man received Fixed Penalty Notice."
The fixed penalty notices carry a £60 fine.
The Glasgow Times attempted to contact Prestige Turkish Barber for comment.
Last week we told how hairdressers in the city are getting ready for planned re-openings of their businesses.
Salons across the city are looking at how best to use PPE and other safety equipment to ensure they can see clients.
Industry bosses said salons would need to adapt to new ways of working while changes could see costs of hair cuts subject to increases.
Businesses will need to see fewer clients with strict hygiene protocols meaning bigger gaps between appointments.
