ANOTHER 160 people have died in the UK after testing positive for Covid-19, it has been confirmed.

The latest deaths bring the total to 34,796, though estimates also including deaths linked to coronavirus are significantly higher.

The UK Government announced at the daily briefing that a further 2684 people have tested positive for the disease.

Overall, a total of 2,682,716 tests have been carried out, and 246,406 have been confirmed positive.

Earlier, Nicola Sturgeon announced two more coronavirus patients had died in Scotland, bringing the total to 2105.
