The National:

CORONAVIRUS has turned the world as we know it upside down.

Our daily routines today were virtually unimaginable a few short months ago. But in this new bizarre reality, we can’t be surprised by anything.

Having said that, Piers Morgan backing Nicola Sturgeon over Boris Johnson did make the Jouker do a double take.

Just last month, the former News of The World editor reacted furiously after the First Minister dared to announce her own government’s plans before Downing Street did.

And that's not the first time the pair have clashed.

But things have become so shambolic in Westminster that even Piers is now siding with the FM.

This comes after the SNP leader refused to join Johnson in saying that Scotland is past the peak of coronavirus.

The Prime Minister said at yesterday’s daily briefing: “I can confirm today that for the first time we are past the peak of this disease.”

But today the First Minister instead warned that the progress made in tackling the illness is "really fragile".

Further explaining her comments on Twitter, Sturgeon wrote: “My concern about ‘past the peak’ is that it could imply we’re past the point of danger. We’re not – progress is fragile and if we ease up it will be reversed. So we need to encourage maximum compliance with current restrictions.”

In a shocking turn of events, Morgan replied: “You're right & Boris Johnson is wrong. Telling people we're over the peak, when we don't actually know that, is reckless because it will encourage the public to break lockdown.”

If Piers Morgan can see sense, there’s hope for everyone.
