PRINCESS Beatrice is said to be planning an "extravagant" royal wedding for 2021 in a bid to "lift the nation's spirits" after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The elder daughter of Prince Andrew was set to get married in a "low-key" ceremony next month, but was forced to cancel due to coronavirus social distancing measures.
Scandal over her father's friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein had also overshadowed her planned nuptials.
But it's now being suggested that the royal is bizarrely viewing her big day as a way of celebration for the UK public following the coronavirus outbreak.
Of course, the news hasn't gone down too well given the current climate.
apparently "princess" beatrice is planning an even bigger wedding next year to "lift the nation's spirits".

although the sight of a member of an unelected ruling family marrying a millionaire property developer will probably have the opposite effect for most people
If they're not careful, the only thing that will be lifted will be torches and pitchforks...There is only so much paupers will take before rebelling and this might just be the straw that'll break the camel's back..

When the world runs out of toilet paper and all seems lost but I realise I have sandpaper in the shed... that will raise my spirits more than this pish.

Corvid and Brexit take an unprecedented toll on the British people's finances. Businesses go to the wall. Mortgages default. People lose jobs all over the place. Potential depression like 1929.

Princess Beatrice: "I'll spend even more money on my wedding to cheer people up."
FFS!
It will not lift my spirits at all if Princess Beatrice has a bigger wedding next year. In fact it will piss me off something rotten. Go away, have a private wedding which you pay for yourselves and stop deluding yourself you are relevant to me or the British public in general

A source said: “As the granddaughter of the Queen, it seems unfair that Bea would have had to hide her nuptials from the public when her younger sister Eugenie did not have to.
“Eugenie’s wedding was televised and watched by three million viewers in the UK alone.
“Beatrice and Eugenie’s profiles and workload will increase after the departure of Harry and Meghan.
“Beatrice wants to show the public that she will never shirk her civic duties.
“She wants the public to see her as an individual, and not to be judged for the mistakes of her father.
"By next year, it would be wonderful if she could hold her head up high as she walks down the aisle in front of hundreds of people.”
Scotland is in lockdown. Shops are closing and newspaper sales are falling fast. It’s no exaggeration to say that the future of The National is at stake. Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
