SUPPORTERS of Scottish rapper Darren McGarvey hit out at Piers Morgan for mocking his Question Time appearance.

The programme, which aired on Thursday night from Uxbridge in West London, featured viewers’ questions from social media which were put to the panel by host Fiona Bruce

Appearing through video link, McGarvey (also known as Loki) said the Westminster Government must let people know "that they aren't going to suffer unnecessarily and that this isn't going to be a pretext for austerity 2.0."

But Morgan referred to him as a "raging lunatic".

Top Scottish lawyer Aamer Anwar hit out at Morgan, saying McGarvey "gave it laldy", while You Call That Radio podcast said he was "on fire".

Chris Manson and Elliot Smith said Morgan's reaction showed prejudice to working class people.

The panel also included Northern Ireland secretary Brandon Lewis, Shadow chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Rachel Reeves, Professor of experimental medicine at Imperial College Peter Openshaw and actor Ruby Wax.

Morgan earlier criticised the panel, saying: “Love Question Time but that was an absolute shocker tonight.

“Biggest crisis since WW2 & we're served up a ranting Scottish rapper, Ruby Wax plugging her business, a scientist praising China (WTF?) and two dull politicians spouting platitudes. Very disappointing.“

Scotland is in lockdown. Shops are closing and newspaper sales are falling fast. It’s no exaggeration to say that the future of The National is at stake.
