FIRST Minister Nicola Sturgeon has paid tribute to a 98-year-old Scottish woman who overcame coronavirus.

Daphne Shah, from Perthshire, was hospitalised at Ninewells on Thursday and tested positive for Covid-19 and is now at home safe and well.

During her daily press briefing on Wednesday Nicola Sturgeon said she it was important to highlight good news during the pandemic.

Sturgeon said Shah's story is an "inspiring and very welcome good news story, but also a reminder that even in dark times, there is always light and hope".

BBC Scotland presenter John Beattie shared a video on Twitter an interview with the 98-year-old.
