Emergency work has started on an Albert Drive flat which was caught in a devastating blaze earlier this week. 

A pregnant mum lost her home in the fire on Wednesday evening. 

Around 10 fire engines were rushed to the Pollokshieds flat to extinguish the blaze. 

Work has started to ensure the building is made safe.

Images show the tower which was caught in the blaze was fully removed as fire damage made it impossible to salvage.

The fire comes just months after another blaze on the same road. 

Albert Drive had only just reopened to traffic on February 1 after a devastating November fire.

Lucie Bradley who lived in the flat with a young daughter is five months pregnant. 

A JustGiving fundraiser has been organised in the wake of the fire to support the young mum whose home and business was destroyed. 

More than 400 people have donated to the fundraiser to support Lucie, raising more than £8600 to date.
