THE crucial climate change conference due to be held in Glasgow later this year has been postponed until 2021.

COP26 was due to be held at the Scottish Events Campus in Glasgow in November.

The summit has been mired in controversy after the UK Government sacked the now-former chair, Claire O’Neill, who then criticised the UK Government's handling of the event.

Alok Sharma was appointed as her successor after a number of high-profile figures reportedly turned it down.

The event will now take place in Glasgow next spring.
