GLASGOW University has announced to its students that three members of the University have tested positive for Covid-19.

The members have been advised to self-isolate and the university said there is "no reason for undue alarm ... confirmation of positive results is entirely to be expected as the pandemic evolves".

From Monday, March 16, all teaching at the university will cease.

The news follows Glasgow Caledonian University's announcement yesterday that all lectures and face-to-face teaching have been cancelled, though the student library will remain open.

This follows the latest figures showing 10 more patients have died in England after testing positive for Covid-19, bringing the coronavirus death toll to 21 in the UK.

A number of the patients, who were over 60, had underlying health conditions, NHS England said.

There has still only been one death in Scotland so far.
