STYLISH and secessionist, these new National tea towels are a must-have for all those who want to press the escape key on the Union.

Okay, so achieving independence isn’t as easy as drying the dishes, but these limited-edition homeware items will help you clean up while the Yes movement works on a clean break from Westminster.

The item is a tongue-in-cheek take on a Tory Party dishcloth launched earlier this year.

Featuring Boris Johnson’s image and a Union flag, it bears the legend “Got Brexit Done” and is £12-a-pop.

The National’s “Get Indy Done” version shows a finger set to press an escape button on a keyboard and is available via the paper’s webshop in either black or white for the tidy sum of £8.99.

The release follows earlier launches of National-branded cards, bags, badges and passport covers.

Editor Callum Baird – who always does the dishes in his house – said: “Boris Johnson might like to tell us how he got Brexit done, but we’re telling him the Yes movement is determined to do the same with Scottish independence.”
