I HAVE just read David McEwan Hill’s letter (The National, March 5.)

I agree the tactic of the Unionists is to delay because they know they will lose. I also agree we need short, sharp slogans and would suggest that at 31 words, his is at least 21 words too long.

I am sure there are plenty of people in the SNP and larger Yes movement who could come up with ideas. Here are a couple of my own thoughts:

  • Get independence done
  • Take back control
  • Scotland’s people should decide Scotland’s future
  • Stand on our own two feet
  • Make our own decisions for Scotland
  • This partnership is not working for us
  • What have you done with our wealth?
  • Why has Norway earned double the UK in tax from oil?
