THE name of the new Batman movie, currently being filmed in Glasgow, could have been revealed after it was spotted on the ID badges of the stunt team.

Twitter user @animation_free said they were able to get close enough to the production team to see the possible movie title on the lanyards and IDs of the staff.

While the movie is currently listed as The Batman, this spot could indicate either a name change or an attempt to distract the public.

In the images shared, a yellow lanyard can be seen with the word "vengeance" on it, and the tweet indicated the person was close enough to read the IDs, which said: "Batman: Vengeance".

While this is not yet definitive proof of the title – many movies use placeholder names called working titles – it may indicate that the movie is a throwback to or inspired by the 2001 video game of the same name.

Working titles are often used during movie development to disguise the name of the project. Given the fact that a man in Batman's signature outfit was spotted on set, it would be a tough job to conceal what the filming is for.

The bike present in the image is the same type that is present in our previous coverage of the set in Glasgow – reducing the likelihood that this is a hoax.

The production came to the city for the new Warner Bros and DC Comics movie being released next year, with road closures in place until today.

Crews were set up around the Necropolis cemetery near Glasgow Cathedral and Glasgow Royal Infirmary – with someone in the famous suit spotted riding a motorcycle.

However, it is thought to be a stuntman seen rather than Twilight star Robert Pattinson, who will portray the dual role of Bruce Wayne and the Batman.

The National has reached out for further information.
