Our Coast (BBC2, 8.30pm)
ADRIAN Chiles and Mehreen Baig explore Anglesey, the largest island in the Irish Sea. Mehreen recalls the story of the Menai Strait’s magnificent bridges, while Adrian dons a wet suit to meet local paddleboarding legend Sian Sykes and see how she’s playing a key role in helping rid the island of waste plastic. Plus, comedian Tudur Owen fulfils a boyhood dream by joining the Holyhead truckers at their brand new truck stop and Lucy Martin explores the shipwreck that changed the way weather is forecast.
Britain by Barge: Then & Now (C5, 9pm)
BILL Oddie joins fellow showbiz veterans Jennie Bond, Anne Diamond and Pete Waterman for a trek along three of Britain’s most famous waterways. Their journey starts on the Leeds and Liverpool canal, the longest single canal in the UK. After getting to grips with their barges, they visit the model village at Saltaire. The quartet also discover how a mill that was one the largest textile factory in the world has been reinvented as an art gallery and high-tech production line.
Grantchester (STV, 9pm)
WHEN a woman is found dead laid out in the shape of a crucifix on Jesus Green, Will and Geordie are led to a nearby convent where they meet steely Sister Grace. A picture starts to emerge as they match the nuns to a series of unsolved missing persons cases from the previous five years. Meanwhile, when Leonard’s father, Russell, arrives in Grantchester, it’s clear there’s no love lost between parent and son.
A View from the Terrace (BBC Scotland, 10.30 pm)
THE weekly irreverent look at the world of Scottish football is back with its distinctive take. Acclaimed for its entertaining dissections of the highs and lows of the game, the show is back from its winter break as the race for glory or survival across the length and breadth of the country hots up. The core presenting team of Craig Telfer, Craig Fowler, Shaughan McGuigan, Joel Sked and Robert Borthwick offers a singular and entertaining view from the grassroots in remote parts of the lower leagues to the elite clubs and the national side. Adapted from the cult podcast The Terrace.

We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
