PEOPLE with lived experience will lead the agenda at a Scottish conference on drug use the day before a similar UK Government event.

Public Health Minister Joe FitzPatrick said the UK conference will not address the problems facing Scotland and will not hear from those with experiences of drug misuse.

The event, at the SECC on February 26, is being organised jointly by the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council. Sessions will include contributions from FitzPatrick and Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council.

The discussions will help inform Scottish input to the UK Drugs Summit. There will be training in the use of Naloxone which reverses the effect of an opiod overdose and a model of a safer drug consumption facility.
