Faux Shop

The latest installation at the V&A in Dundee comes from Atelier E.B, exploring the aesthetics of shop-window display. The exhibition focuses on the shop window displays of the 20th century, those which although beautiful, were seemingly unremarkable. The Faux Shop reveals how even the unnoticed details of window-dressing deserve more serious contemplation.

Monet’s Seascape Masterpiece

Until March, Monet’s 'Seascape’ is on display at Duff House in Aberdeenshire. This is one of Monet’s earlier works, painted with an odd combination of a palette knife and brush. He later commented on his admiration for moonlight scenes but found it difficult to paint nature at night. The painting is on display in the Marble Lobby where visitors will be able to see this Impressionist masterpiece.

Michael Ball and Alfie Boe

Popular music duo Michael Ball and Alfie Boe have rejoined forces for their Back Together tour. Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home Ceilidh

This latest exhibition from the Royal Scottish Academy gives visitors a fascinating, informal opportunity to find out about the work of 10 New Contemporaries exhibitors. Each artist and architect whose work will be on show will be speaking for 20 seconds about 20 different images. The speakers at the event include Suzanne Anthony, Sarah Broadhurst, Gabrielle Gillott, Alex Hayward, Jacob Scott and McLauchlin and Williamson.

James Blunt

Glasgow Philharmonia Movies to Musicals

After the success of the fifth sold-out Movies to Musicals concert, the Glasgow Philharmonia returns to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for what promises to be their biggest show yet. The 6th annual concert will see the orchestra performing classic movie soundtracks and some of the public’s favourite and best-loved songs. The orchestra will be joined on stage by their children's cast, musical theatre cast and other special guests, so head along to witness over 400 performers on stage.

Ghost Hunt

If you’ve ever fancied yourself to be a member of a ghostbusters team, look no further. For this ghost hunt, you can be the investigator of ghostly activity in Mary Queen of Scots’ House. Mary spent a month in Jedburgh in the autumn of 1566, a turning point in her life marking the beginnings of the troubles that ultimately led to her death in England. In 2005, the first group of paranormal investigators visited the house and reported a level of unexplained phenomenon. Today, visitors can investigate the house and see what they can find.
