COMPARING misbehaving children pretending to be superheroes to the PJ Masks is unfair on the star if the kid’s TV show, according to the SNP.

Responding to a bizarre interview in which Boris Johnson’s top political strategist Dominic Cummings made reference to the cartoon when asked about HS2 – a proposed high-speed railway between London and Birmingham – Pete Wishart said the Government had “lost the plot”.

"Comparing misbehaving children pretending to be superheroes to the PJ Masks is an unfair comparison,” he said.

“This is a government that has lost the plot and it would be welcome if Cummings and the Tory Cabinet followed the PJ Masks into the night.”

When leaving his home this morning – following Boris Johnson’s announcement to go ahead with HS2 – Cummings was asked if he’d lost his influence given he was a vocal critic of the railway.

He responded: “The night time is the right time to fight crime. I can’t think of a rhyme.”

He went on to say that the PJ Masks could do a better job than the UK Cabinet “put together”.
