SCOTTISH electro-pop outfit CHVRCHES and pop pioneer Neneh Cherry have been announced as headliners for Playground Festival 2020.

They will top the bill on Saturday, August 1 and it will be CHVRCHES' homecoming show following their US Tour.

Festival founder and organiser, Brian Traynor, said, “We have worked hard to bring together a world-class lineup of musicians for Playground Festival 2020, and we are delighted to announce CHVRCHES and Neneh Cherry as our Saturday headliners.”

This summer’s Playground Festival will boast a 45% female line-up. Last year, on average women made up 26% of the festival line-ups in the UK.

Set within 200,000 square feet of luscious gardens and woods, the inaugural Playground Festival – held last summer, attracted more than 14,000 revellers who enjoyed unforgettable performances from international acts including Groove Armada, Hot Chip, Django Django and Anna Calvi.

In addition to a carefully curated "Food Forest, Playground Festival 2020 also promises to be a family-friendly affair thanks to Mini Manoeuvres who will be on-site all weekend providing face-painting, soft play, dancing and games for the little ones. The festival will also feature aerial acrobatic performers, a craft beer area and a dedicated gin garden.

Playground Festival 2020 will take place on Friday July 31 until Sunday August 2, in Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire.

Tickets for Playground Festival are on sale now priced from £49.00 + booking fee. Tickets for Under 14’s are priced at £24.00, while children under the age of 7 years old go FREE.
