THE former first minister of Wales has backed Scotland’s demands for a second referendum.
Carwyn Jones, who served as first minister and Welsh Labour leader from 2009 and 2018, spoke out after Boris Johnson rejected the Scottish Government’s request for a Section 30 order.
If accepted, it would give Holyrood the powers required to hold indyref2.

Jones – an Assembly Member for Bridgend – compared Scotland’s plight to the Brexit process to underline the absurdity of the Conservative government position.
He tweeted: “If Boris Johnson says that it is entirely a matter for the UK if it chooses to leave the EU then it’s entirely matter for Scotland if it chooses to leave the UK.
“As Brussels didn’t prevent the Brexit referendum so Westminster shouldn’t stop this one.”

The First Minister has accused the “terrified” Tories of denying democracy in Scotland.
